Membership

The NADC was formed by and for lawyers who work in the unique dealer environment. Membership is open to practicing attorneys who serve the needs of auto, truck, motorcycle, boat, motor home and all terrain vehicle dealers. Executives of the trade associations that represent dealers are eligible for associate membership. The Board of Directors reviews all applications for approval.

NADC Programs

  • Information Resources: invaluable network of members sharing information; website and members-only listserve for quick query and response; publications, such as CouselorLibrary's Spot Delivery¨ for all members
  • Education: periodic meetings and presentations on issues of interest or concern to members and for which members can earn continuing legal education (CLE) credit
  • Leadership: position papers and formal position statements; resource to state attorneys general; and filing amicus briefs
  • Specialty Sections: appropriate specialty sub-sections offer information and support on members' specific concerns

  • Member only meetings - NADC meetings focus on the hot issues of the day. National and regional meetings are held throughout the year and all offer CLE credit.
  • Members only list serve - NADC members communicate with each other in a timely manner and receive a daily digest of messages. A searchable archive of list serve messages is also available.
  • Member forum - NADC members share their perspective on a wide range of topics on a threaded, on-line forum. What's currently under discussion?
  • Spot Delivery® - a concise monthly newsletter provides an update about legal issues that affect automobile dealership operations and keeps readers informed about new legal developments. The newsletter presents familiar factual scenarios, identifies the legal issues involved, presents real court resolutions and suggests strategies to avoid similar legal pitfalls.

  • I do not represent, and agree that I will not undertake to represent in the future, the interests of consumers in lemon law claims or lawsuits, in other claims or lawsuits against dealers arising from consumer transactions, nor will I represent the interests of manufacturers or distributors in franchise disputes with vehicle dealers.
  • It is possible that from time to time a law firm with which I am or may be associated may represent a manufacturer in the defense of a consumer claim.
